Tips for creating a wedding register
Table
SALT & PEPPER SHAKERS: Go for classic or choose a wild and crazy set.
PLACEMATS: These can change the look of your table in an instant. It's a great idea to register for multiple sets.
TABLECLOTHS: An easy way to dress up or add color to your table. Get a few for holidays and special occasions, plus some for everyday use.
NAPKINS: Cloth is a must for elegant entertaining. These often come in sets with other table linens, but it's fine to mix and match to suit your taste.
NAPKIN RINGS: We like to think of these as table jewelry. They're a great way to add sparkle to your place settings.
DECORATIVE BOWLS: Fill with vibrantly colored fresh (or faux) fruit, or display simply as is. Nice bowls make great conversation pieces.
VASES: You definitely don't want to get caught without a few if guests arrive bearing flowers. But even when unfilled, most vases look classy and elegant.
CANDLESTICKS: Have a romantic dinner for two by candlelight, or spread some tapers and votives around to set the mood. Candles –- scented or not -– are a must, and candlesticks add a stylish touch.
PLATTERS: (various sizes) We bet you'll be throwing lots of cocktail parties as newlyweds. Make sure to serve cheeses, wine, and appetizers on chic trays!
CHEESE KNIVES: Hard, soft, spreadable -– different kinds of cheeses are cut with specific knives. Impress your guests with one of each.
PITCHERS: Even water looks delectable in a fancy, ice-filled pitcher.
LAZY SUSAN: Eliminate the question, "Can you please pass the ...?" from your table.
Registered for all of these table accents -- and then some -- but don't have a place to put them? You can register for a table!
We believe big-ticket items like furniture are definitely NOT a no-no on registries. Think of them as options for groups of people who will want to pitch in for a gift. Consider a dining set or kitchen table -- any guest would be proud to give you something you'll use daily!
